My Story

My name is Chipo Musikavanhu and I love writing about God-themed topics. As an African person, I come from a culture that was not necessarily Christian but believed in accessing God through ancestral worship. However, my family got saved that by the time I was born, we were a Christian family.

Growing up in Africa, I grew up surrounded by a community of people of whom some (including some family members) believed in ancestral worship. I did more research on this type of worship and came to the conclusion that it seemed to have no end in sight, always creating fear and uncertainty. Comparing it to my Christian walk, I realised that I had found the right way of accessing God.

Here is what I believe:

I believe in God the Father Almighty,
the creator of heaven and earth:

And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost,
Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate,
Was crucified, died, and was buried:
He descended into hell;
The third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven,
And sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty,
Whence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit;
The Holy Universal Church of Christ;
The Communion of Saints;
The Forgiveness of sins;
The Resurrection of the body,
And the Life everlasting.
Amen.

P.S. My name is a Shona name, Chipo means gift or talent and Musikavanhu means God the creator.
